sloppy-boppy

sloppy-boppy
Used to a man whom the speaker describes as ‘a slob’ in The Day of the Locust, by Nathanael West. The same speaker is given to reduplicative expressions, since she uses ‘palsy-walsy’ elsewhere in the book. ‘Sloppy-boppy’ is not a standard slang expression but does manage to suggest a slovenly person.
